Mushroom Compost

Description

Mushroom Compost is a totally organic, dark, rich, moist mixture of wheat straw, peat moss, cottonseed meal, cottonseed hulls, corncobs, cocoa bean shells, gypsum, lime, chicken litter and/or horse stable bedding. The pH is usually in the range of 8.0 to 8.3. Soluble salts are normally high, so it is best used as an amendment and not a growing medium (No more than 25-30%).Mushroom Compost has been pasteurized and sterilized to eliminate disease and neutralize weed seed.

Great for preparing new lawns, vegetable & flower gardens and top dressing existing lawns! Excellent soil amendment! Studies show the pH of fresh Mushroom Compost will diminish as it is aged, and composted. In heavy applications, Mushroom Compost can replace Lime in raising the pH!
